Indian health and nutrition tracking startup Ultrahuman has quick-adopted its debut smart ring last 12 months with a second technology of the machine - which formally launched in June. ’s calling the Ring Air. So, er, Apple eat your coronary heart out! Though of course Apple doesn’t make a smart ring. And actually it’s class veteran Oura’s smart ring which most closely resembles what the Indian workforce has wrought with the Air. Ultrahuman will not be so familiar a reputation to gadget fans but its differentiating edge vs different health wearable makers is a metabolic health monitoring program, known as Cyborg. This extends its means to provide health insights, including by tracking how your body responds to what you’re eating. It does this by looping in another piece of sensing hardware in the type of an arm-mounted steady glucose monitor (CGM). This medical grade expertise, which was originally developed for individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes to monitor their blood sugar, is redeployed on this context as a quantified health wearable - with Ultrahuman’s sales pitch promising to turn 24/7 glucose tracking into "instant health nudges" and "metabolic fitness protocols" to help well being-acutely aware consumers meet their wellness objectives.
