Editors' notice, Dec 14: You'll find all of our coverage about Ring on this aggregation web page, including our reporting about Ring's privacy and safety insurance policies. This commentary covers how we issue those points into our product recommendations. The Herz P1 Smart Ring Mailbox Sensor looks like a steal at $30 -- and in some methods, it is. It is a plastic sensor you attach to the inside of your mailbox door. Comply with the steps within the Ring app to set it up and obtain alerts in your cellphone every time the mailbox door opens. The true-time alerts part worked as anticipated. After I opened the door, my cellphone sent the close to-instant alert -- "Entrance yard Mailbox detected movement." But the Mailbox Sensor has design and usefulness problems that get in the way in which of its meant simplicity. You also have to buy a Ring Good Lighting Bridge to your Mailbox Sensor to work, either bundled with the Mailbox Sensor (presently on sale for $50, but normally costs $80) -- or individually (at present on sale for $20, but typically costs $50). |
